Steve graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a major in accounting in December 1979, six months ahead of his class, starting to work in public accounting just in time for tax season. He launched his own practice in September 1982, after completing the CPA exam. After several years in public accounting he began to develop an interest in financial planning and began concentrating his professional education to enhance his skills in that field beginning with an eighty-eight hour course offered by the AICPA to enhance financial planning skills. He took attorney classes to develop his knowledge of estates and trusts, then took the insurance and Series 6 securities exams in 1995. The Certified Financial Planners exam came next in 2000 followed by the Series 7 securities exam.
Over the years he has developed a great degree of experience with recently divorced or widowed women and has the unique ability to deal with not only investment and financial planning but coordinate the individual tax return to client’s situation. In addition, he has over three decades of small business experience and can help with planning and setting up retirement plans, as well as helping get the accounting system set up in QuickBooks.
Steve has been married to Tammy Painter Kincer since 1978 and they had twin daughters who have given them four grandsons. They attend Mt. Zion Baptist church.
